Mary was initiated into Midland Assembly #193 in 1966 at
the age of 12. She held 2 offices, Musician and Religion, before being elected
to Faith. Mary served as Worthy Advisor in the summer term of 1970. Her theme
was Patriotism and Hope. Her colors were red, white, and blue. Her emblem was
the anchor, and her flower was the white chrysanthemum. She was also privileged
to participate in the Grand Choir at Grand Assembly that same year. She was
appointed Grand Immortality at the 1971 session. During that year, the Grand
Treasurer resigned to get married, and the Executive Committee appointed Mary to
that station. She was elected Grand Faith in 1972, and was installed as Grand
Worthy Advisor in 1973 in Fort Worth.

Her theme was Patriotism, flower was the white rose, colors were red, white and blue, emblem was the flag, and scripture was John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."There were about 4000 people in attendance at that Grand Assembly session. Mary presided in San Antonio for the 50th Grand Assembly Session.
Today, Mary is a member of the Advisory Board at Plano Assembly #320. A Past Mother Advisor of Plano, she also worked with Midland Assembly as Board chairman before moving to Dallas in 1982. Mrs. Harvey will be installed as Worthy Matron of Plano Chapter #703 on June 9, 2001. Her theme will be "Pathways in Life." Colors are turquoise and white, emblems are seashells. She enjoys playing piano and guitar. Mary sings professionally at several establishments in the Dallas area and plays piano for many Rainbow functions. A highlight was playing for the Memorial and Initiation services during Grand Assembly 2000 in Plano. Mrs. Harvey currently resides in Dallas with Steve, her husband of 21 years, 6 cats and 1 dog. She collects seashells, dolls, and teapots. She loves gardening and the ocean.
