NEWS FROM 2001-2002
Candace Lester Helton, Chaplain '81, Hope '82, WAA '83, is currently a Pre-K teacher for the Texarkana Independent School District, with 15 years of teaching experience. She is married to Larry Helton, and they have 3 sons, 13, 15, and 18 years old. Her parents (Armon and Theresa Lester) are both Worthy Matron and Worshipful Master of their Lodge and Chapter.
Elizabeth (Liz) Dupuy, Religion '97, attends the University of Texas at Arlington. This semester she is studying French in Cannes, France.
Julia Cocharo, South Carolina/Music '97, is studying at the Univeristy of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. She is a sophomore studying toward a nursing degree. She is attending the University on an academic scholarship.
Jaime Cocharo Stephens, Massachusetts '96, will graduate from the University of North Texas in May 2002 with a B.S. in Education. She is very excited about graduating and starting her career as an elementary school teacher. She was married to Nathan Stephens on July 6, 2001, and is expecting a baby in October of this year.
Jennifer Cocharo, Executive '94, Chaplain '95, is currently living in Nevada, MO, and working as a process engineer for 3M. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1999 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
Cathy Parker Coleman, Hope '79, writes that the prospect party was a big success, and they were able to institute the new Elm Valley Assembly LT #3 on Feb. 9, 2002. Hurray!
Rebecca O'Bier, Immortality/Iowa '97, GC Team '00, is a junior at Southern Methodist University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Statistics. She is a leader with Campus Crusade for Christ at SMU, and leads a freshman and sophomore girls Bible Study through Crusade.
Proud Mom Mary Ellen Leos, Love '70, reports that daughter Kristy, WA '01, graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University on December 15th, 2001, and daughter Meagan, Executive '00, Kansas '01, as of December 18th, 2001, is a member of Bluebonnet-Buckner Chapter OES.

Tricia Lautner Lewis, Fidelity/Kansas '97, graduated from Midwestern State University in May 2001 with a BBA in Accounting. She was then hired as Assistant Chief Financial Officer at Wichita Falls Teachers Credit Union, and is currently working on getting her CPA license. In July, she was married to Chris Lewis, and they are "doing wonderfully!"Sarah Weaver, Connecticut/Brazil, is currently serving in the United States Navy and having a blast. She wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Tammy Sutherland Eck, WA '89, is married to John Eck and we have a new baby, Joseph Thomas who was born in May of 2000.
Tanya Carter Self, Executive '95, New York '96, was married to Carl Self in September. Best wishes!
Kristen Gorman, Florida '95, Financial Projects '96, GC Team '00, '01, is now serving her first term as Mother Advisor at Roy Stanley #127 (formerly Mt. Auburn-Slayter). She is also serving Roy Stanley #1086 OES as Electa after having been initiated this past March '01.
Cathy Parker Coleman, Hope '79, is a PMA and currently Board Chairman of Plano #320. Her daughter Christi is currently Grand Nature. She writes, "I have recently been elected to be Mother Advisor of a new assembly that I am working to start up in Prosper, TX called Elm Valley Assembly. We will be having our first prospect party on January 12 and would love to have any PGO's there to greet the girls and their parents! You might say that we are still a Rainbow Family after all these years!"
Sarah Haws, Nature '98, Treasurer '99, Charity '00, WAA '01, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, as well as working part-time. Sarah received a scholarship for the 2001-02 school year from the Grand Chapter of TX, OES. Way to go!
Georgeanne McLean Hultman, Charity '97, had her baby boy on August 28th. He was born at 1:47 pm and weighed 8 lbs. His name is Connor Lochlan Erik. Everyone is doing great!
Sharon Henss, New Hampshire '94, Alabama '95, Musician '96, completed a BA in Botany at the University of Texas in Dec. 2000, and is currently pursuing an MS in Horticulture at Texas A&M.
