What a wonderful lady she was. She always seemed genuinely happy to see me every time we crossed paths. I think I was in awe the first time I met her. I wasn't sure I should go up and introduce myself, but once I did, she immediately made me feel at ease. One of my fondest memories of her and Mr. Mills was at my Grand Assembly in 1990 in San Antonio. We were all arriving at the Tamalada Party Sunday night and "Gasp" they were wearing BLACK! We were all laughing. But seriously, she was truly an inspiration to me...She was the "Wind Beneath My Wings."Jennifer Sheridan
Past Grand Worthy Advisor 89-90My first memory of Mrs. Mills was in 1980, when during the election of Grand Officers, girls in the gallery screamed because I was elected to the office of Grand Recorder. The rules then were very strict. Any display of emotion could result in forfeiture of office. Mrs. Mills stated into the microphone that I could not have the office, then after brief conference with Mrs. Whitfield, they decided that the "screaming" did not come from me so I was not to be penalized. It was a TENSE moment in my life. I went on to serve as GWA with Mrs. Mills and there are no words for the love and devotion I have held for her and Mr. Mills. They touched my life and I will never forget them!!!

Lovely, compassionate, exceptional, mentor: these are only a few words that pop into my mind when I remember Mrs. Pearl Mills. She was truly an inspiration to many young ladies, including myself. She had a special aura about her that made every girl aspire to become a better person. One of my fondest memories is the way that she used her hands to "caress" a face. Mrs. Mills is a guardian angel looking down from heaven on each of us with only love in her heart. I feel fortunate to have known and served with her for a number of extraordinarily special years. She will be eternally missed and never forgotten.

One of Mrs. Mills' Grand Worthy AdvisorsEver since I was a young girl entering into Rainbows, on my very first year of Grand Assembly, my amazement brightly shined on my face when I saw how a Grand Assembly was put on by Mrs. Mills, at the time Supreme (Inspector), we sang a song while presenting a piece of jewelry to her, she shined so brightly as we sung a pretty song to her. She had great composure and dignity where anyone wanted to be like her and see how high they can come in Rainbows. She was my heavenly jewel in my eyes.

Chasiti Dixon, Grand Outer ObserverI have a few funny stories to share. I don't even remember this first one, but apparently when I was very young, new to Rainbow, and first met Mrs. Mills, I just walked right up and told her that I "wanted to have her job someday!!" :) I am sure she took it just as graciously as she did everything else. Another strange but true story. I was a member of Ft. Worth Assembly #15, and back when we were still meeting at the Tabernacle Lodge, we had this streak where every time Mrs. Mills would come to visit, we would make her sick. :( The worst was when we had a dinner, with what turned out to be "bad meat" from Sam's. We all felt just terrible! If I recall she didn't visit us again for quite a while! :) But in all seriousness, Mrs. Mills was just the sweetest, most wonderful lady, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to know her and work with her as a GO.
